One Saturday, four salerooms, and lots that run from hallmarked silver and militaria to a field of collector cars. Everything below goes live today, Saturday 22 August 2026. Two of these sales lean into the season — garden tools, planters and outdoor kit that always shift well in August — while the others reward the jewellery, militaria and motoring crowds. Here’s the pick of them.
What’s in the Sutton Hill Farm Country Auctions sale?
This is the mixed country sale done properly: Collectables, Models, Jewellery, Silver, Militaria, Household and Furniture all under one roof. That breadth is the appeal — you can chase a boxed die-cast model, a hallmarked silver piece and a lot of medals in the same session, which is exactly how many general collectors build. Militaria buyers should watch this kind of catalogue; regional country sales are where badges, cap plates and campaign medals still turn up sensibly priced before the specialists arrive.
It runs Online & In Person from 10:00 am (BST) on Saturday 22 August 2026 at Sutton Hill Farm, Coventry Road, Broughton Astley, near Leicester (LE9 6EY). On the numbers: buyer’s commission is 21% plus VAT with a £3 minimum per lot, card payments are capped at £200 (debit card or bank transfer above that), and postage covers only small items that fit a Jiffy bag. What’s in the HCP Auctions sale in Liskeard?
If you like a saleroom you can actually use, HCP is your day. This is a working catalogue — tools, garden kit and honest household goods — with real value in it. Trade buyers and allotment types will spot the Bosch Rotak 40 GC electric rotary lawnmower, the Hyundai super-silent oil-free 24L air compressor with 15m hose, and a Record No. 23 heavy-duty bench vice with swivel base and anvil — the sort of workshop lot that costs a fortune new and goes for sensible money used.
There’s character here too. The antique iron miner’s flame safety lamp nods to Cornwall’s own mining heritage, while a pair of vintage maritime flags (a catamaran yacht club burgee and an RNLI flag) and the vintage blue-painted steel cantilevered toolbox will tempt decorators after industrial patina. Add a Parry three-burner commercial gas griddle, a pink-painted wooden garden companion seat and a trio of planters, and it’s a summer garden-and-shed sale to the core.
It’s Online Only, opening at 10:00 am (BST) on Saturday 22 August 2026, run from HCP Auctions at Lamellion, Liskeard, Cornwall (PL14 4JT); bid live through the online catalogue. Read the full HCP general auction listing, the HCP Auctions house page, or more Devon auctioneers.
What’s in the Harrisons Auction Centre general sale?
Harrisons runs a straightforward General Auction from its centre at 197 Nene Terrace Road, Crowland, near Peterborough (PE6 0LD) — Lincolnshire fen country. The individual lots aren’t catalogued online yet, which is precisely why seasoned buyers turn up: an unlisted general sale is where a sleeper hides. Expect the usual generous mix of furniture, household effects, collectables and garden bits, and treat viewing as essential — get there early, handle the goods, and set your limit before the hammer starts.
It’s Online & In Person from 10:00 am (BST) on Saturday 22 August 2026. Keep an eye on the Harrisons general auction listing as lots are added, follow the Harrisons Auction Centre page, and see what else is coming up across Lincolnshire.
What’s in the Anglia Car Auctions sale?

ACA is one of the country’s best-known classic car rooms, and a weekend sale like this typically fields everything from affordable modern classics to properly desirable restored cars — the reason enthusiasts, first-time classic buyers and the trade all travel for it.
