One Wednesday, four salerooms, all opening at 9:30am. On 19 August 2026 you can chase bullion-weight gold in West Wales, boxed film die-cast in Teesside, and over a thousand lots of fine art and antiques in Ripon — every sale live online and in the room. Here’s where to spend your morning.
What’s in the Peter Francis Auctioneers sale in Carmarthen?
Peter Francis Auctioneers Ltd holds its Antiques, Collectors, Gold, Silver, Jewellery, Watches and Coins sale at the Towyside Salerooms, Old Station Road, Carmarthen, SA31 1JN, on Wednesday 19 August 2026 from 9:30am (BST), online and in person.
This is a proper mixed-discipline sale, the sort that rewards a patient scroll through the catalogue. Scrap and wearable gold track the bullion price, so check spot before you set your maximum. Numismatists get their own run of coins, while the watch and general antiques sections leave room for a dealer or a first-time bidder to find a sleeper between the headline lots.
- Gold, silver and jewellery — investment weight and wearable pieces
- Coins — a dedicated numismatic section
- Watches and general antiques — where the bargains hide

What’s at the Vectis TV and film toys auction in Thornaby?
Vectis Auctions Ltd — the name in the trade for collectable toys — runs Day 1 of its TV/Film Toys & Collectables Auction from Fleck Way, Thornaby, on Wednesday 19 August 2026 at 9:30am (BST), online and in person.
If your shelves already carry Corgi, Dinky or a boxed die-cast in its original card, this is your morning. Screen tie-ins — character figures and vehicles from film and television — are among the most keenly chased material in the hobby. Condition and, above all, the box drive the money: a mint example in a crisp carton can multiply the price of a played-with one. This is Day 1, so plan your bids across the run.
- TV and film tie-in toys — character figures and vehicles
- Boxed die-cast — where original packaging sets the price

What’s in the Elstob Summer Fine Sale in Ripon?
Elstob Auctioneers stage their Summer Fine Sale at Ripon Business Park, Charter Road, Ripon, over 19 and 20 August 2026, from 9:30am (BST), online and in the room. With more than 1,100 lots, it’s the heavyweight of the four.
The catalogue spans centuries and price points, which is the joy of a good fine sale: a designer hunting one statement piece and a specialist chasing a single maker can both leave happy. Silver, jewellery and watches sit alongside pictures, furniture, Asian art, ceramics and clocks, plus objects of vertu — those small, finely worked pieces that reward close looking. As a late-summer country sale, the furniture and decorative lots are well timed for anyone dressing a home before autumn.

- Asian art, ceramics and objects of vertu

What glass does the second Elstob catalogue include?
The same Elstob Auctioneers Summer Fine Sale is catalogued in full on easyliveAuction — the listing to study for the complete run crossing the block on 19 and 20 August 2026 at 9:30am (BST) in Ripon, online and in person.
The standout here is the glass. Elstob have gathered an appealing group by Lalique, Loetz and Gallé — three names that anchor any serious glass collection. Lalique’s moulded opalescent designs, Loetz’s iridescent Art Nouveau surfaces and Gallé’s cameo work each pull a different buyer, and together they should be one of the most watched sections of the sale. Around them sit silver, jewellery and watches, pictures, furniture, Asian art, ceramics, clocks and objects of vertu.
- Lalique — moulded, opalescent glass
- Loetz — iridescent Art Nouveau surfaces
- Gallé — cameo glass
